About this Speaker

Rosanade Childress worked 20 years for Southwestern Bell and AT&T. During her last six years of employment, she attended school at San Jacinto College and transferred to University of Houston Central where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She taught 20 year in Houston ISD with the last six years in her most treasured position as a Special Education teacher.

Rose has worked as a volunteer for Girl Scouts for twenty seven years. After attending a workshop given by AARP on financial planning the year before retiring, she placed becoming an AARP volunteer on the top of her post-retirement list of things to do. Since retiring May, 2015, she has volunteered in a number of areas within the organization. Rose has enjoyed the opportunity to utilize the skills from her pre-retirement days and to provide service to others by delivering valuable AARP information as it relates to the 50-plus community.
